Positive cases in Category 1 and 2 – asymptomatic or with mild symptoms – are allowed to isolate at home if the residential conditions meet the requirements.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar used the example of a 20-member household sharing three bedrooms. In this case, the positive case will be taken to the National Isolation Centre.
The minister said this in response to the issue of positive cases self isolating raised during a press conference yesterday.
“The Ministry of Health understands that the condition differs from one household to another.
“In the case where a household of 20 people have five to 10 bedrooms, then the positive case will be allowed to carry out their isolation at home.”
