All schools under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Arabic schools under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), private schools as well as higher education institutions (IPTAs) and Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) will resume normal operation starting July 27, under the fourth phase of the de-escalation plan.

The matter was shared by Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman in a press conference yesterday.
The minister said the implementation of de-esclation measures at teaching and learning session for the fourth stage will allow students to attend learning session normally. However, all outside classrooms activities including morning assembly, sports and co-curriculum activities are not allowed until a later date.
Meanwhile for IPTA and IBTE, the teaching and learning mode will be according to the programme needs as they were given flexibility to determine how the teaching procedures to be carried out for their students as some still use online platforms for their teaching and learning sessions.
Meanwhile, work attachment and study visits in the country will be allowed depending on the risk assessment and permission from the IPTA and IBTE management. Study abroad and other oversea programmes are still not allowed.
However, for new students who apply to study abroad or those who have returned to the country but wanted to resume their study abroad, can follow guidelines that have been set by the MoE.
Students need to fill Form A (COVID-19) – Permission to Return to the Country of Study and Form B – Declaration Form; Return to Country of Study.
