    School to receive BND16.3M makeover

    The Ministry of Education (MoE) through its Planning and Estate Management Department held a foundation laying ceremony for Sultan Hassan Secondary School’s reconstruction project yesterday.

    Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar and Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman were the guests of honour.

    Deputy Minister of Development Dato Seri Paduka Ar Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, and Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Bokok Yang Berhormat Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu were also present.

    The BND16.3-million project on a site of 15.4189 acres in Kampong Batu Apoi was initiated on February 16 and is expected to be completed next year on May 15.

    The project is part of MoE’s long-term plan to provide a more conducive and quality educational infrastructure through the 11th National Development Plan.

    The school, with a modern concept design, will be equipped with facilities such as science laboratories, specialised rooms, library, surau, multipurpose hall, dining hall, canteen and administration block and sports infrastructure such as tracks and football fields.
