School sees record number of graduates

Sayyidina Husain Secondary School recently held a graduation ceremony for its class of 2021.

Sixty-nine out of 151 students obtained between five and nine ‘O’ levels, which is the highest percentage of graduates recorded in the school’s history since it began operations in 1994.

Prizes were awarded to 22 students who obtained A* and 33 teachers who improved the academic performance of their students.

Head of Cluster 4 at the Ministry of Education Haji Juma’ata Sonadey bin Haji Mornie was the chief guest. The school’s former principal Dayangku Hajah Noramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad was a special guest.

Acting Principal Nor’izzah binti Haji Othman praised the students and teachers for their hard work and hoped that they will continue to succeed.

The school’s valedictorian Dayangku Nur Sa’adatul Rasyidah binti Pengiran Zaman spoke about how she and her classmates overcame the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic with the school’s help. The event also saw special prizes awarded to the top three students: Harris Daniel bin Junaidi with Excellent Student Award, Dayangku Nur Sa’adatul Rasyidah with Model Student Award and Syahira Afifah binti Apipudin with Promising Student Award.
