Over 160 St George’s School students from Kindergarten 3, Year 6 and Year 11 graduated at a ceremony at International Convention Centre in Berakas yesterday.

Philippines Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Marian Jocelyn R Tirol-Ignacio was guest of honour at the event that also saw the unveiling of the school’s 85th anniversary logo.

St George’s School Principal Janidi Jingan said yesterday was an eventful day not only for the graduates but also for the school as it marked 85 years since establishment. The anniversary celebration was themed ‘Celebrating the Past, Forward to the Future’.

He said the COVID-19 pandemic for the past few years has taught schools to be prepared for any eventualities. St George’s School has adapted and used digital technology to endure that teaching and learning can be done remotely.

He expressed gratefulness to the support, cooperation and understanding from the parents during the challenging times.

The event saw top students from Kindergarten 3, Year 6 and Year 11 receiving awards for academic excellence.

The guest of honour and the audience were also treated to several performances by the school’s students.
