School completes disaster training

The National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) concluded a disaster training programme with students and teachers of the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School, Lumut in Kuala Belait on Wednesday.

The two-day School Based Disaster Risk Managament (SBDRM) programme took place at the school and was participated by 33 students and five teachers from Year 9 to 11. The programme raised awareness and knowledge on risks and safety as well as how to react quickly and appropriately during a disaster.

The participants took part in a number of activities including – the Do’s and Dont’s before, during, and after a disaster; and formulating a plan of action.

Permanent Secretary (Safety, Welfare and Law) at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud attended the closing of the programme as the guest of honour.
