School celebrates Chinese New Year in grand style

Chung Hwa School Kiudang celebrated Chinese New Year (CNY) at the school’s multi-purpose hall with its students all dressed up in the auspicious colour of red.

Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brunei Darussalam Andrew HC Lee was the guest of honour. The school’s board of governors members were also present.

Lee and members of the board of governors handed over prizes to the top three winners of the CNY calligraphy competition, participated by Kindergarten 2 pupils to Year 6 students. Kindergarteners and primary students enlivened the celebration with dance, singing and lion dance performances.

A chinese calligraphy session was also held during which Lee and the board of governors wrote the Chinese characters Dulian (spring couplet) and Fu (Good Fortune).
