An Indonesian woman will learn her fate tomorrow after admitting yesterday to cheating people off their gold (worth over BND30,000) and money (in excess of BND60,000).

Prosecutors finalised the charges to 17 counts against Susanti binti Joko of attempting to buy a lottery ticket on July 4 at a building in Kampong Bengkurong; overstaying from September 2019 to June 29, 2020; and scamming people into believing she could invest their gold and money in an investment scheme.

DPP Muhd Qamarul Affyian bin Abdul Rahman revealed the 45-year-old defendant would then become untraceable, and victims would lodge police reports. On July 4, 2020, the defendant was arrested while attempting to buy 4D. She was unable to produce travel documents.

Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid is considering a fitting punishment.
