Russian delegation visits Royal Regalia Museum

THE Museums Department yesterday played hosts to a visit at the Royal Regalia Museum building by a delegation from the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation led by Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil and Acting Director of Museums Amirul Syukri bin Haji Hafneh welcomed Matviyenko and the delegation.

Legislative Council (LegCo) members Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu, Yang Berhormat Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman and Yang Berhormat Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii were also present.

Awarded the Best Attraction Award by Asia Travel and Tourism and TripAdvisor certificate of Excellence 2012, the Royal Regalia Museum features four main galleries displaying the coronation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in 1968 including the royal ceremonial artefacts and the development stages of the country during the monarch’s reign.
