A TOTAL of 420 people took part in the ‘Run For Life 2019’ event organised by the Brunei Darussalam Society of Anaesthesiologists and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital in collaboration with MK Fashion Sports House & Embroidery at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital yesterday.
Part of the proceeds from the registration and purchases of Run for Life 2019 shirts will be donated to the RIPAS Hospital Fund to help underprivileged patients and to provide medical equipment to continue their treatment and therapy at home.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar was the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a warm-up aerobic session. The guest of honour officiated the launch of the run for each category, namely the 10km Women’s Open Category, 10km Men’s Category and 3km Fun Run and Ride.
According to a press release, the event was aimed to ensure the success of the Congress of Anaesthesiologists to be held in September 2019 and will focus on issues related to the daily practice of anaesthesiologists, latest developments and the needs of patients.
Also present were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) at the MoH Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin; Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services Pengiran Dr Haji Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail; as well as directors, officers and staff of RIPAS Hospital.
