THE Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) will hold the Run & Cycle 2018 on December 9 to raise funds for charity.

Vice President of PUJA and PUJA Engineer Division Chairman Haji Mohamad Zin bin Salleh yesterday told the media that that event is to raise funds for associations such as the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei and Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA). Funds are also being raised for the victims of the Lombok earthquake and collapsed dam in Laos.

The race will be flagged off at 7am at the Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien and span across Jalan Residency and the iconic Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge in Sungai Kebun. The run category is split into 3km/6km and 10km, while the cycling activity covers a 21km route. There will also be a 3km Family Fun Run for children. The activity is to encourage a healthy lifestyle among Bruneians, especially those in the construction industry.

The event looks to raise public awareness on PUJA as being a non-profit organisation whose members comprise surveyors, engineers and architects from the government and private sectors. It is being held in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival.

The closing date for entry is November 24. Registration can be done online or through Instagram @puja.runandcycle.
