Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman graced a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony organised by the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD) at An-Naura Hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital yesterday.
The ceremony is the association’s annual event held in conjunction with the Sultanate’s 38th
National Day.
The event aimed to instil the practice of reciting and understanding Al-Quran in-depth, and encourage PPPBD members to practise the recitation as part of their daily life and guidance. It also served to foster closer ties among the members.
Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by PPPBD Chief Commissioner Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim.
The ceremony saw three groups of readers comprising members of the Committee of Governors, Adults and Young Leaders, Ranger Girl Guides, and Girl Guides completing the 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran recitation.
Prior to the group reading, the ceremony began with the recitation of Doa, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran verses by Young Leader Dayangku Nor Fatin Fetriah binti Pengiran Haji Isa.
Meanwhile, the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Young Leader Dayangku Norsabreena binti Pengiran Razali, while the mass recitation of Takhtim by Khatam Al-Quran participants was led by Young Leaders Nur Izzati Umairah binti Abdullah Ali and Siti Nurashiffa binti Haji Mohd Eddie.
The Doa Khatam and Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Brunei Darussalam were read by Nor Sabrina binti Ratna, while the Doa Selamat was read by Dayangku Nor Fatin Fetriah.
The association actively organises religious activities including Doa Kesyukuran online, along with skill development, community and cultural activities.
