Three Qari and three Qariah participants presented their Al-Quran reading during the second night of the National
Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults for 1443 Hijrah/2022 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik graced the event.
Greeting His Royal Highness upon arrival was Minister of Religious Affairs, who is also the Chairman of the competition’s Executive Committee Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as well as other executive committee members of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults for 1443 Hijrah/2022.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin, followed by the reading of Al-Quran by the Qari and Qariah participants.
The second night’s three Qari participants were Haji Awang Muhammad Fikri bin Haji Awang Metussin, Haji Hazwan bin Haji Salim and Muhammad Zul-Hafiz bin Awang Tengah, while the three Qariah participants were Siti Zahrina binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Hajah Nurhapidzah binti Haji Hassan and Dr Hajah Siti Wardah binti Major (Rtd) Haji Abdul Rahman.
The competition, themed Bertemankan Al-Quran Sepanjang Zaman (Companionship with Al-Quran Throughout the Ages), will continue tonight.
