Road Safety Council holds prayers

THE Brunei Darussalam National Road Safety Council (BNRSC) held recitation of Sunnat Hajat prayer and Ratib Al-Attas at Kampong Lambak Kiri Landless Housing Scheme Mosque.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Transportation, Research and Development) at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud as the Secretary of BNRSC and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications, Cybersecurity, Strategy and Corporate) at the MTIC Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim were present.

The ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the Brunei Insurance and Takaful Association (BITA) Haji Osman bin Haji Md Jair, as Ambassador of BNRSC, BNRSC members, head of department and senior officers of the MTIC and relevant agencies as well as teachers and 240 students from Dato Othman Religious School at Kampong Lambak Kiri Landless Housing Scheme.

The recitation of Hajat prayer and Al-Attas prayer is a monthly event of the BNRSC held specifically for Allah the Almighty so that the country, especially road users, is always given protection from accidents.

In addition, the event was a continuous effort by the BNRSC to gain blessings in all its efforts and plans to improve road safety.

BNRSC continues to call on all road users to begin every journey with prayer as well as to increase alertness and give full attention when driving on the road and adopt prudent driving attitudes.

Drivers are also urged to always wear seat belts, not use mobile phone while driving and observe the speed limits and the traffic signs displayed for safety.
