Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) launched the Kampong Buang Sakar Riverine station at Kampong Buang Sakar yesterday, which boasts a 100-per-cent local workforce.

the event.
Deputy Minister of Energy Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Permanent Secretary (Energy) at the Ministry of Energy (ME) Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Power) at the ME Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra and BSM Managing Director Muhammad Norshafiee bin Dato Paduka bin Haji Abdul Jalil were also present.
Muhammad Norshafiee said, “The plan to build a new petrol station for the community in the Water Village began in 2015.
“Initially, over 10 sites were earmarked for having the potential for building for the riverine petrol station. After a detailed analysis, and discussions with stakeholders, Kampong Buang Sakar was identified as the most suitable place in the Brunei River.”
The construction work began in 2020 and was completed without loss time injury (LTI). The station began operations on November 1, 2021 with the aim of serving the Kampong Ayer community.
Kampong Buang Sakar Riverine Station is open from 6am to 5.30pm daily.
Customers from the river can dock their boats at the station’s jetty while those from land can park their vehicles in an open area near the station.
Customers will need to bring their approved standard jerry cans to the dispensing pump at the riverine station to purchase petrol.
