The Ministry of Health (MoH) announced that the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Radiology Department will be suspended for upgrading works beginning June 2.
To ensure MRI’s availability, cases requiring it will be referred to Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and Pantai Jerudong Specialist Center (PJSC) by priority based on clinical assessment.
However, some cases will be postponed to a date after the upgrade is done, announced the MoH in a press statement.
The ministry said the upgrade will improve the MRI’s efficacy and produce better quality images as well as increase diagnostic ability for better treatment.
The project includes replacing MRI equipment and renovation of the imaging room.
The works are expected to be completed in mid-July.
