Some 88 artworks from 20 local artists are on display at the ‘Twenty21 Art Exhibition – Collection Series – Hope’ at Mabohai Shopping Complex. The exhibition which began yesterday continues until January 31.

The artists’ standards are on par with international talents, according to a reputed local artist Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Asmalee bin Pengiran Ahmad.

“The artworks not only depict the high quality of pieces and the standard locally, they are comparable to regional and international standards — or even higher, to my knowledge. The artworks are worth collecting for investment purposes,” Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Asmalee said at the opening ceremony yesterday.

Dayangku Selinna binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Asmalee, an art tutor at Meragang Sixth Form Centre, is leading the artists.

Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Asmalee added, “They are the future and will someday be well known Insya Allah.”

Mabohai Shopping Complex Manager Yee-Man Cheng said, “We are excited to host the ‘Twenty21 Art Exhibition’ at Mabohai Shopping Complex and provide a venue for the artists to showcase their work to the public.

“I am honoured that Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Asmalee has agreed to exhibit some of his artworks at the exhibition,” she added.

The exhibition, open from 10am to 7pm daily, is supported by the Brunei Darussalam BIMP-EAGA Business Council and Astera Consultant.
