Retailers briefed on energy saving guidelines

Retail shop owners in the Brunei-Muara District attended a briefing on Energy Saving Guidelines organised by the Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through Energy Transition Division at the Lambak Kanan Community Hall recently.

The briefing is the first session of a series that scheduled to be organised in all four districts involving commercial sector nationwide.

The early stage of information dissemination is focussed on retail shop category.

Thirty shop owners attended the briefing covering the importance of reducing the consumption of electricity and avoid wastage.

The energy saving guidelines offers suggestions in reducing electricity consumption in lighting systems, air conditioning, refrigerators and other electrical appliances without affecting customers.

It also serves to encourage retail shops and the public to use renewable energy through the installation of rooftop photovoltaic solar system.
