Renal patients compete, connect for World Kidney Day

The Sukaneka Pesakit Renal event, aiming to raise awareness on renal health and encourage a healthy lifestyle, was held at the Tutong District Community Hall Complex yesterday, in conjunction with World Kidney Day 2024.

Organised by the Ministry of Health through its Renal Services Department, the event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Head of Religious Teacher at Renal Services Haji Mohammad Azmi bin Haji Tapau.

The event saw the marching in of the participants – 75 renal patients from all districts – grouped into five competing teams and games and activities, including puzzle-solving; carrying a ping pong ball with a spoon; putting the ball into the netball post; blind ball; shoot and target; and bottle fishing.

The event also aimed to strengthen ties between the patient community, their family members and the Renal Services Department staff.
