Religious school enrolment opens

Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Quran Tahfiz Institute is now open for enrolment to its Year 7 programme for next year.

The enrolment, which opened yesterday, will close on August 17.

Students wishing to enrol in the school must be citizens and residents. For non-citizens whose parents work in the public sector or government-linked companies in the country can also apply by submitting a special application to the Board of the Institute.

Applicants must be no more than 14 years on January 1, 2021 or in Year 6 at either a public or private school this year and obtain at least a grade C in all subjects at the Primary School Assessment (PSR) or its equivalent.

Forms can be submitted prior to the PSR exam results, with copies of the results forwarded to the Institute once available.

The applicant must also pass an interview that features the memorisation of Al-Quran and should live on the premises throughout their studies. All students must adhere to rules and regulations stipulated by the school, while the acceptance of students is subject to the decision of the school board.
