Religious events mark Maulidur Rasul

To glorify and remember the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide are holding Dikir Maulud for 12 consecutive nights since 1st of Rabiulawal, 1444 Hijrah.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a Dikir Syarafil Anam ceremony at RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang Mosque, Tutong District yesterday.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Dikir Assalamualaika, Dikir Syarafil Anam and Dikir Marhaban after a mass Isyak prayer. It concluded with the handover of endowment in the form of Dikir Syarafil Anam books by the guest of honour to Imam Aisamuddin bin Haji Saleman.

Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohamed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohamed Yunos; Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu; permanent secretaries; and acting Tutong District officer as well as heads of departments, officers and staff at the PMO were also in attendance.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) hosted a Dikir Syarafil Anam ceremony at Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque yesterday.

It was organised by the Royal Customs and Exercise Department.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour.

Also present were Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid as well as permanent secretary, heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff of the ministry. The ceremony began with a mass Maghrib prayer, followed by Dikir Syarafil Anam and concluded with a mass Isyak prayer.

Meanwhile, a delegation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) organised a religious gathering at Kampong Batu Apoi Mosque in the Temburong District on Monday.

Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim was in attendance.

The ministry’s nightly Dikir will continue tonight at Pekan Seria Mosque in the Belait District.

The Ministry of Education (MoE), through the Institute of Brunei Technical Education and Department of Educators Management, also held a Dikir ceremony at Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque, Kampong Jerudong on Monday.

Ninety guests, comprising officers and staff from the ministry attended the event. Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad was the guest of honour.

The event began with a mass Maghrib prayer followed by the handover of wakaf from officers and staff of the ministry by the guest of honour to Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque Imam Amaludin bin Haji Jamaludin. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) also held a Dikir event at Al-Mashor Mosque, Kampong Sungai Mau in the Belait District yesterday.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Laws, International and Research) at the MoHA Haji Ahmad Nizam bin Dato Paduka Haji Ismail was the guest of honour.

Heads of departments, senior officers and staff at the MoHA, penghulus, village heads, mosque takmir committee members and mukim and village consultative council members also attended.
