Religious events enliven Ramadhan

The National Road Safety Council (MKKJR) held a Sunnat Hajat prayer, recitation of Ratib Al-Attas and mass Zohor prayer at the Brunei International Airport surau to seek the protection from Allah the Almighty from the pandemic and also road users in the country from any mishaps yesterday.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong who is also Acting Minister of Transport and Infocommunications attended.

Imam of the surau Haji Mohd Asyhraf bin Haji Bujang led the Sunnat Hajat prayer, recitation of Ratib Al-Attas and mass Zohor prayer.

The MKKJR urged road users to begin their journey with prayers and to stay attentive.

“Drivers are urged to prioritise safety by ensuring vehicles are in good conditions, wear seat belts, refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and abide by speed limits and road signs.

“Plan ahead. If you feel tired, sleepy or upset, postpone the journey. Don’t be hasty on the roads because the most important thing is to arrive at your destination safely,” it said.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) hosted a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony and presentation of donation to orphans at the Surau Nuurul ‘Inayah of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan yesterday.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister followed by the recitation of Al-Quran from Surah Al-Ma’idah, Verses 83 to 87.

The a Tedarus Al-Quran is a religious activity held in rotation in the four districts to enliven the month of Ramadhan and foster closer ties between MoH and RIPAS Hospital staff.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of donations to 16 orphans who are children of RIPAS Hospital staff.

Acting Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif, Acting Director General of Health and Medical Services Pengiran Dr Haji Md Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail, directors and officials from the MoH also attended.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) continued the Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan at Kampong Belimbing Mosque in Subok yesterday.

The event was jointly organised by Department of Councils of State and Attorney General’s Chamber. Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud was the guest of honour.

Attorney General Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa, permanent secretaries; deputy permanent secretary; heads of departments and officers and personnel of the PMO and its departments.

The ceremony began with the presentation of Waqaf in the form of two units of dispersion speakers and a laptop presented by the minister to Imam of Kampong Belimbing Mosque.

It continued with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti, followed by the recitation of Al-Quran from Surah Al-Mulk to Surah Al-Mursalat by PMO officers.

The event concluded with mass Asar prayer. The event will continue with the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony tomorrow at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque.

The Ministry of Development organised a Khatam Al-Quran in conjunction with the 37th National Day celebration at the ministry yesterday.

The ceremony also coincided with Earth Day celebration on April 22.

Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar attended.

The religious event began with mass Zohor prayer and Doa Kesyukuran for Earth Day. This year’s celebration carries the theme ‘Restore Our Earth’.

This was followed by Khatam Al-Quran with the minister leading the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.

The Takhtim and Doa Khatam was read to mark the completion of the recitation.

The ceremony concluded with a Dikir Marhaban.

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) held a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony at the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Sungai Akar yesterday.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin led the delegation.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister, followed by the recitation of verses of Al-Quran, Tahlil and Doa. The minister also presented Waqaf, followed by a mass Asar prayer.
