    Religious events enliven Ramadhan

    Ministry of Health

    The Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday held Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony, recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah and presentation of donation to orphans at Surau Nuurul ‘Inayah of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

    Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar attended as the guest of honour and handed donations to 27 orphans from the staff of RIPAS Hospital.

    The ceremony was one of the religious activities held nationwide to enliven Ramadhan and strengthen ties among personnel of the MoH and the hospital. – James Kon

    Ministry of Finance & Economy

    The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) held a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony yesterday at Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque in Kampong Tungku in conjunction with Ramadhan.

    Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour. Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, permanent secretary, acting permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretary and heads of departments as well as officials from the ministry were also in attendance.

    The ceremony began with the presentation of waqaf to the mosque’s imam, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses of Al-Quran before concluding with a mass Asar prayer.

    This year’s ceremony was organised by the Employees Trust Fund (TAP) and is an annual religious activity to strengthen ties among officers and staff of the ministry while refining the recitation of Al-Quran. – James Kon

    Ministry of Primary Resources & Tourism

    The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) held a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony yesterday at Jefri Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Batong, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

    Organised by the Agriculture and Agrifood Department with the Tourism Development Department, the guest of honour was Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin.

    Deputy permanent secretary, heads of departments, officers and staff of the MPRT as well as mosque officials and acting village head of Kampong Batong and villagers were also present.

    The ceremony saw the presentation of waqaf from the ministry to the mosque, received by head of imam Mohammad Shahdon bin Damit.

    The event proceeded with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by guest of honour, followed by a mass reading of Al-Quran verses and concluded with the breaking of fast and a mass Maghrib prayer.

    The religious ceremony is an annual activity held during Ramadhan to foster ties among ministry and villagers. – James Kon

    Prime Minister’s Office

    The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held its third day Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony yesterday at Kampong Belais Mosque in the Temburong District, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

    The ceremony was jointly organised by the Department of Energy and the Department of Justice in collaboration with the mosque’s takmir committee.

    Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the PMO Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu was the head of delegation.

    He was also accompanied by Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the PMO Ajman bin Haji Meludin.

    There was also a presentation of waqaf in the form of mosque necessities by the delegation head to mosque imam Mohammad Safwan bin Zolkipli.

    The closing ceremony of the Tadarus and Khatam Al-Quran for the PMO will be held at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque on March 26. – Adib Noor

    Islamic Da’wah Centre

    The series of Tedarus Al-Quran, breaking of fast as well as mass Sunnat Tarawih and Sunnat Witir prayers by the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), through its Muallaf Development Section (Muallaf Welfare), continued at the Musholla Al-Ameen recently.

    Held in collaboration with Nurul Islam Association (PNI) members, the head of delegation was PDI Head of Propagation Pengiran Norhayati binti Pengiran Haji Kasharan.

    Officers and staff from the Studies and Publication and Human Resources, Planning and Research Divisions of PDI and PNI President Haji Mohd Hazwan bin Abdullah also attended the event.

    The presentation of Sunat Tarawih Prayers and Witir Guidebook and Ratib Al-Attas by Pengiran Norhayati was also held. – Lyna Mohamad
