    Religious event seeks protection, blessing for road users

    The Brunei National Road Safety Council (MKKJR) organised a mass Sunnat Hajat and Asar prayers, and a recitation of Ratib Al-Attas at the Surau of Brunei International Airport.

    The event was part of the MKKJR’s ongoing efforts to seek blessings for its programmes towards enhancing road safety and seek protection from Allah the Almighty for all road users, and from the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof along with MTIC senior officials and MKKJR members were present.

    The mass prayers and recitation of Ratib Al-Attas were led by Surau Imam Haji Mohd Asyraf bin Haji Bujang.

    The MKKJR called on road users to start each journey with a prayer while increasing vigilance. It also urged drivers to check the brakes, tyres and lights, to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition, as well as wear seat belts,refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and to comply with speed limits, signs and traffic signals.

    They also advised the public to plan the trips, and if feeling tired, sleepy or restless, postpone it; as well as refrain from speeding, especially if late for an engagement, for a safe arrival at the destination.
