RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone 2 Village Consultative Council (MPK) and Security and Development Committee organised a Khatam Al-Quran to mark His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration yesterday.
It was highlighted with recitation of Takhtim and Doa Khatam and a religious talk to mark Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat, the guest of honour, recited Surah Al-Fatihah and Selawat Tafrijiyyah.
Six haj pilgrims who returned from the pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah were also feted.
The gathering at RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone 2 Acting Village Head Haji Nizam bin Haji Julaihi’s residence was aimed at strengthening ties among villagers. – Azlan Othman
