The Nur Rahmah group observed the new Islamic year of 1444 Hijrah by organising a Khatam Al-Quran yesterday.
Nur Rahmah, a group of individuals and friends who recited Al-Quran online during the COVID-19 pandemic, will participate in the upcoming 76 times Khatam Al-Quran which will be organised by Senior Citizens Association to mark His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 76th birthday celebration.
A ceremony to welcome the safe return of haj pilgrims was also held.
Event organiser Haji Abdul Jamal bin Haji Abdul Rahman expressed delight for the cooperation in organising the event and hoped that the participants will self-reflect and continue to recite Al-Quran as well as follow its teachings.
