Religious ceremony marks His Majesty’s birthday

THE Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) and departments under it hosted a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with the 73rd birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, at Ash-Shaliheen Mosque of the Prime Minister’s Office Building Complex yesterday.

Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin was the guest of honour.

Permanent secretary, heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff members of the ministry and departments under it were also present.

The ceremony started with Sunnat Hajat prayer led by Imam of Ash-Shaliheen Mosque Anuar bin Haji Salim, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin, Tahlil and Doa Kesyukuran and a mass Asar prayer.

The ceremony aimed to show an expression of gratitude for the leadership of His Majesty and pray for the monarch’s good health, longevity and continued reign with guidance of Allah the Almighty.

The ceremony was jointly organised by the Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE) of MoFE.

Guest of honour Acting Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin and other officials during the ceremony. – WANI ROSLAN
