Religious ceremony for road users

AS PART of a monthly religious event to seek protection from Allah the Almighty for road users in the country, the Brunei National Road Safety Council (BNRSC) yesterday held a mass Sunnat Hajat prayer and recitation of Ratib Al-Attas ceremony at the Sufri Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Perpindahan Berakas.

Present at the ceremony was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof who is also an BNRSC member.

The religious ceremony was attended by officials from MTIC, Land Transport Department (JPD), Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), MTIC members as well as other relevant agencies in road and traffic regulations. Students from Amar Pahlawan Religious School in Kampong Perpindahan Berakas also took part.

BNRSC in a statement called on all road users to always begin their journey with prayers, and enhance their alertness by giving full attention and focus while driving and practise a sensible driving attitude. “Drivers must also prioritise safety by wearing seatbelts, avoid using mobile phones while driving and always obey speed limits, traffic signs and warnings.”

Other notable guests at the ceremony yesterday was Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications, Cybersecurity, Strategy and Corporate) at the MTIC Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim and Acting Director of JPD Haji Rozaly bin Haji Saidon who is also the Chief Secretariat of MKKJR.
