The Group of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy permanent secretaries and Affliated members yesterday held Khatam Al-Quran, Doa Kesyukuran and Sunnat Hajat prayer in conjunction with the birthday of Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
The religious ceremony was held at the residence of spouse of the Minister of Religious Affairs Datin Hajah Nahriah binti Haji Hasbi in Kampong Sungai Besar, Jalan Kota Batu. Chairperson II of the group Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah binti Haji Mohamad, spouse of the Minister of Home Affairs, was also present.
The Khatam Al-Quran ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Datin Hajah Nahriah in her capacity as the Head of Religious Committee for the association.
It was followed with the recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuhaa to Surah An-Nas and later the recitation of Takhtim and Doa Khatam by spouse of the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Hajah Azizah binti Haji Mohammad.
The ceremony continued with a mass Sunnat Hajat prayer led by Hajah Saemah binti Haji Abdul Salam. The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Kesyukuran.
At a separate ceremony, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Wives’ Welfare Organisation (BAKTI) organised a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with Her Majesty’s birthday at Surau Al-Fa’izun, Berakas Garrison yesterday.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil followed by mass Maghrib prayer and Doa Kesyukuran.
President of BAKTI Datin Hajah Rasidah binti Haji Brahim was the guest of honour. The heads of BAKTI’s sub-units, committee and members of BAKTI were also present.
Meanwhile, the Welfare Body of Police’s Wives and Families (PEKERTI) on Saturday night also held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with Her Majesty’s birthday.
Spouse of the Acting Commissioner of Police Datin Hajah Shamsiah binti Haji Abdul Samad was present.
The ceremony commenced with a mass Maghrib prayer, followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Doa Kesyukuran led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Hajah Normah binti Haji Puteh and later continued with a mass Isyak prayer.
