The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday held a Doa Selamat and a presentation of donations to 49 intending haj pilgrims.
The presentation ceremony held at the ministry’s building was attended by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman who also presented the donations.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang and officers and staff at the ministry. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Doa Selamat, presentation of donations. The ceremony ended with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
The religious ceremony was held to pray that intending haj pilgrims will be under the protection of Allah the Almighty.
The first haj flight will depart on Sunday.

The haj is not an easy pilgrimage, therefore it is necessary for pilgrims to prepare themselves and constantly express gratitude to Allah the Almighty.
This was among the advice in a special Tazkirah on ‘Lambaian Ilahi’ delivered by Religious Development Officer and Assistant Head of the Propagation of Dakwah Division at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustapa at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
This year, haj pilgrims from the Ministry of Defence comprise of 11 civilians and 12 military personnel. Present during the event as the guest of honour and to present the contributions for the male pilgrims was Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, while his spouse Datin Hajah Kalshom binti Haji Suhaili presented the contributions to female pilgrims.
Also in attendance were Royal Brunei Armed Forces Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Yaasiin, followed by Asma’ul Husna. After the Tazkirah presentation, the ceremony continued with a mass Sunnat Hajat prayer, followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat.

Ministry of Finance and Economy

The Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) held a Doa Selamat for intending haj pilgrims at the theatre hall of the Ministry of Finance and Economy building yesterday.
Acting Minister of Finance and Economy Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani attended as the guest of honour. Also present was Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and welcoming speech from Director of Development at the Budget and National Development Plan Office Hajah Salawati binti Haji Puasa.
A special lecture on ‘Ibrah Daripada Ibadah Haji’ was delivered by religious officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Nasyith bin Superi.
The ceremony concluded with a presentation of donations to 17 intending haj pilgrims. The event is MoFE’s annual activity to celebrate those who perform the haj as well as strengthen the relationship between the officers and staff at the ministry.

Royal Brunei Police Force

Two personnel and one civilian of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) were feted in a Doa Selamat for intending haj pilgrims yesterday at RBPF’s headquarters surau, Gadong.
RBPF Commissioner Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali attended the ceremony as guest of honour. Also present was Deputy RBPF Commissioner Dato Seri Pahlawan Sulaiman bin Alidin.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Imam of Surau RBPF Gadong Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Abu Bakar before concluding with a Doa Selamat.
