REGISTRATIONS is open for the 7th Green Leaders Camp (GLC7), organised by Green Brunei, which will be held at the Youth Centre on August 3-5.
The focus of this year’s camp will be on climate change to reflect on the current global challenge, with a three-fold objective which includes raising participants’ awareness and understanding of the environmental situation in the country, developing strategies on combating climate change from a youth and community level, and enhancing individual skills such as leadership, teamwork, creative thinking and public speaking.
GLC7 is open to 40 youth aged between 15 to 35. Participants will be exposed to various elements to climate change, learn from experts in the field, work together towards developing ideas and take action.
The camp will be conducted through panel discussions, field trips and outdoor activities. Participants are expected to organise follow-up projects or community service with the support from Green Brunei after the programme.
As an outcome of the previous Green Leaders Camps, 10 follow-up projects have been organised by the alumni groups, including beach clean-ups, workshops, art exhibition and school talks. GLC alumni have also continued to pursue their environmental interests in different forms such as education, establishing their own environmental groups in school as well as attended international programmes on environment.
To register, fill the online form at bit.ly/GLC7thinkclimate by July 10.
