Regional meeting on vocational, technical education and training

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO Voctech) Regional Centre organised its 33rd governing board meeting (GBM) in Bangkok, Thailand recently.

Attending the meeting was governing board (GB) members from 11 SEAMEO member countries.

Centre Director of SEAMEO Voctech Alias Haji Abu Bakar highlighted on SEAMEO Voctech’s achievements in the last fiscal year from July 2021 to June 2022 while Chairman of the SEAMEO Voctech GB Dr Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli lauded the centre’s resilience in reaching its milestones despite the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Director of the SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES) in Thailand Dr Ethel Agnes P Valenzuela said SEAMES looks forward to sharing the SEAMEO’s Strategic Plan 2021-2030 and the SEAMEO Integrated Operational Plan 2021-2025.

Advisor for Policy and Planning at Thailand’s Office of the Vocational Education Commission Wittawat Punjamawat was the guest of honour at the event. He highlighted the need for Thai nationals to work towards human resource developments in Thailand’s 20-Year National Strategy.

The 33rd GBM, which saw 15 working papers, concluded with a group photo.
