PHILIPPINE DAILY INQUIRER/ANN – Restive Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon had 29 volcanic earthquakes in the last 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.
The 29 quakes were recorded from 5am on Sunday until 5am yesterday. Phivolcs on its website said that plumes reached up to 150m high driven by the wind to the northwestern side of the province.
Phivolcs raised Alert Level 1 on Sunday after Mount Bulusan had a phreatic eruption which lasted for 17 minutes. The public was warned by Phivolcs against entering the four-kilometre danger zone and the two-kilometre extended danger zone in the southeast part of the volcano.
