    Recognition for outstanding youth movements

    The briefing for the National Youth Day Award 2023 in conjunction with the 18th National Youth Day celebration continued yesterday with the participation of officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and departments under it, and youth sports organisations.

    The briefing was held at PM Dato Sharifuddin Hall of the National Archives of Brunei Darussalam.

    Head of Youth and Sports Hajah Noor Maslina binti Haji Sulaiman delivered her briefing followed by an explaination from Assistant Head of Youth and Sports Sharinah binti Haji Abdul Rahman on the registration procedures.

    A sharing session was also delivered by a recipient of the National Youth Day Award 2022, Co-founder of FEED Project Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin, who received the Meritorious Youth Service Award; and BloodKad Project Coordinator Agus bin Muslim who received the Excellent Project for Youth Award.

    A question and answer session was also held.

    The National Youth Day Award is a recognition and appreciation given to youth movements in Brunei Darussalam to uphold His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in shaping youth as a valuable asset that deserves to be focussed and respected.

    The recognition serves as a platform and manifestation of supporting the efforts of youth in building and maintaining the spirit of volunteerism among the community.

    Four categories were outlined for the National Youth Day Award: Excellent Youth Award, Meritorious Youth Service Award, Young Youth Leaders Award and Excellent Project for Youth Award.
