Over 300 students of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School (SASHHB) were feted and received awards and certificates during a ceremony held at the school’s multipurpose hall yesterday.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang presented the awards.
Some 252 students received the Excellent Award for excelling in the year-end examinations; 51 for achieving 5A’s in the Primary School Assessment (PSR); 146 for the Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB) Examination and 58 for excelling in GCE ‘O’ Level examination in 2022.
Acting Principal of SASHHB Haji Norhisyam bin Haji Mohd Noor said as students, they will undergo valuable experiences while facing challenges and difficulties, such as exam anxiety and understanding learning materials.
He added that these challenges can be overcome with strong will, hard work and unwavering determination to achieve success. The award ceremony, he said, serves as recognition for outstanding students while providing a platform to inspire and motivate other students to do the same.
Students who excelled in co-curriculum activities were also feted and among them champion of the National Hadrah Competition for Secondary Schools 2022, champion in ‘Pertandingan Kata-Kata Pantang Larang Orang Tua-Tua’ for Primary School at National Level 2022 and champion in Qira’at Zikir and Selawat for Primary Schools and Colleges 2022.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of Special Award for Excellent Students in SPUB and BGCE ‘O’Level 2022.
