Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP) commemorated International Women’s Day (IWD) yesterday with a forum focussing on recognising women in the workplace and the contributions they have made in the energy industry and beyond at the BSP Head Office in Seria.
BSP Human Resources Director Hajah Zainab bitni MA Omar highlighted the importance of the event and continuing the dialogue of women’s empowerment in the workplace.
She highlighted BSP’s commitment in providing an open and safe space for women to feel empowered to speak up.
The event featured a panel of speakers comprising BSP Managing Director and Shell Country Chair in Brunei Agnete Johnsgaard-Lewis, Deputy Medical Superintendent of Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital Pengiran Dr Noor Affizan bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman and founder of BIG BWN Project Noorhafizah binti Rashid.
The speakers shared their experience on IWD global theme ‘Choosing to Challenge’ and provided guidance on creating an open and inclusive workplace. They also shared profiles of inspiring women and their qualities.
The forum concluded with a presentation by Women In Focus Network of BSP on the programmes and events for 2021.
