Recipients of the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) Excellent Students Incentive Award Scheme and the National Level Donation Presentation to Orphans expressed gratitude over the acknowledgement of their academic achievements and donations on Wednesday.
Muhammad Syafiq Aiman bin Sukarni of Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School (SMALHB), one of the BIBD Excellent Students Incentive Award Scheme recipients, said, “This is my first time receiving this award. I feel blessed as well as really happy and also surprised.
“I always do my revision and prepare early for examinations. Equally important is the support from my family, and I always pray,” he said when asked on the secret to his success.
He added that the award would further fuel his motivation to work harder and thanked BIBD and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS).
Another award recipient, Muhammad Nursyarifuddin bin Samsul from SMALHB, said, “I feel blessed to receive this award for the first time in my life. This award will further motivate me. My mother’s support and prayer helped too.”
He added that the key to his success is memorising and preparing early for examinations.
Meanwhile, Nur Raihanimah binti Haji Abdul Amin, mother to Awangku Muhammad Nur Faiq Wazien bin Pengiran Haji Yahya, 17, and Awangku Muhammad Nur Adam Izz Rayyan bin Pengiran Haji Yahya, nine, were among the orphan’s donation recipients.
“Alhamdulillah, two of my children received the donations for the second time.”
On behalf of her family, Nur Raihanimah conveyed her gratitude to the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the MCYS and BIBD for the contribution.
Meannwhile, Nurul Nazerah binti Omar, mother to 15-year-old Nur Reshalleeyana Nazwin binti Abdul Rahim expressed, “We feel blessed. This is the eighth time we received the donation and this will help us with our expenses. We would like to also thank the Government of His Majesty, the MCYS and BIBD for the generousity.”
