Recipients grateful for the recognition

Several civil servants of the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) and departments under it including government-linked companies (GLCs) received the conferment of state honorary awards in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s birthday celebration.

One of the recipients of the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik Mohd Salehin bin Haji Basir, who is the Human Capital Development Manager at Darussalam Assets, was acknowledged for his 12-year services.

“For 12 years, it has been very fulfilling working for Darussalam Assets. There is never a dull moment at Darussalam Assets, especially with our role in several GLCs and assisting with the growth of the private sector,” he said.

The 35-year-old advised public servants and employees under GLCs to always stay committed and keep focus on the shared goal of working for the Government of His Majesty.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Monetary Management at Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) Hajah Nurhuaida Fakhriah binti Haji Damit, who has been in the monetary board since 2007, said she was surprised to be included on the list of recipients.

“I was so happy because it’s a testament of the work that we have done for the country,” she said. “Sometimes you may think that what you are doing is very small but this award is truly a testament of our contribution to the nation. When you are working, there are of course good and bad days, but in the end, you are doing it for the good of the nation.”

Acting Assistant Director of Planning at the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics Dayangku Norhanidah binti Pengiran Haji Masshor also did not expect to receive the award.

“I am grateful to receive this award. Alhamdulillah for the rezeki. Thank you, His Majesty, for the recognition. Thanks to my bosses who believe in my work, and thanks to the team as well,” she said.

Dayangku Norhanidah, who has been in the service for 15 years, advised employees to always do their best.
