Reaching residents through Personal Contact Programme

The Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office held the Personal Contact Programme at the residence of Acting Village Head of Kampong Tanjong Maya Haji Alias bin Haji Suhaili as a continued effort to reach out to residents of villages.

The programme’s delegation was led by Acting Senior Information Officer, Ruhil Amal Faridah binti Yahya in her capacity as the Head of the Nationhood and Community Division. Information Department officers and staff, and members of Kampong Tanjong Maya Village Consultative Council, and Kampong Tanjong Maya’s Women’s Bureau were also present.

The programme, with its face-to-face communication strategy, is a platform for information exchange between the government and the people where the public can provide constructive feedback.

It aimed to enhance relations and forge unity between the people and the nation. Issues discussed included the preparation of infrastructure facilities and environmental protection.

Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah on the relationship between the monarchy and the people; economy, welfare and the development of the people’s lives and the country; Personal Contact Programme’s aim; national flag, Acts related to false news; cooperation towards hygiene; and departmental programmes under the Public Relations Unit including the Information Department Muzakarah Programme, Informed Community Programme and Awasi Anak Kitani Programme were also shared.

Digital versions of Pelita Brunei, called e-Pelita Brunei and Pelita Brunei online, were unveiled at the programme.

The digital gazettes feature information on nationally important materials such as flags and banners.
