RBPF, villagers join hands for crime prevention

Cooperation between the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) with villagers were further enhanced with the volunteer programme of neighbourhood watch through the continuous crime prevention patrol held in a number of areas in the country yesterday.

One crime prevention patrol was carried out around the Sungai Liang recreational park by Sungai Liang neighbourhood watch members with Sungai Liang Police station personnel.At the same time, members of the neighbourhood watch of Puni and Ujong Jalan villages also took part in a crime prevention patrol with Temburong Police station personnel.

The target areas were abandoned houses at the old Ujong ferry drop-off and the friendship bridge between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia. No suspicious activities were reported during the patrol.

The initiative is a continuous approach for engagement between police and the community to make sure that surrounding areas of villages are safe. It is also to strengthen cooperation within the community to maintain security and prevent crimes.
