Twelve Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) chefs have done the country proud after winning medals at the Culinaire Malaysia 2019 Cooking Competition in Kuala Lumpur.
The prestigious culinary event from September 24-29 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) was organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Professional Chefs Association (PCA) and Malaysia Food & Beverage Executives Association (MFBEA).
The RBC chefs won medals in several categories. Led by chef Shahril, the team competed in individual and team challenges.
In the team challenge, they entered the final stage of the MLA Golden Bull Culinary Challenge and bagged the first runner up trophy, and won the bronze medal in the Malaysian Avant-Garde Cuisine Challenge.
RBC General Manager Haji Jeff Hadiman bin Dato Paduka Haji Danial noted that the hardwork put into the competition was priceless. The chefs had undergone six months training.
Chefs from over 10 countries participated in the competition, including Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Australia.
