Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel will be deployed as part of the 16th contingent of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) and the Malaysian Battalion 850-7 (MALBATT 850-7) to the United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) respectively.
A flag handover ceremony was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Bolkiah Garrison yesterday. Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud presided.
The Commander of the RBAF also presented the IMT badges to the 16th Brunei Darussalam contingent to Mindanao. The deployment comprises eight personnel from the RBAF and an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF). The delegation will be led by 579 Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Mutalip bin Bujang. The IMT contingent left for the Philippines yesterday.
Meanwhile, the UNIFIL deployment comprises 30 RBAF personnel led by 787 Major Mohd Hishamuddin bin Haji Marzoki. The UNIFIL contingent will leave on September 1.
