The Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) yesterday released a special video to commemorate Brunei Darussalam’s 37th National Day.
The video featured RB staff and frontliners singing along to popular patriotic song Tekad Kemerdekaan. The song was written by HM Mashadi and composed by Major (B) Haji Manaf Haji Kamis in 1984. The composer is the father to one of RB employee, Yudy Firman bin Haji Manaf.
Yudy’s mother Hajah Saadiah binti Haji Ghazali was the original female vocalist of the song. Both Yudy and his parents were also featured in the video.
“As Brunei’s national flag carrier, we showcase our patriotism by displaying joy and pride towards our beloved nation.
“RB is the ambassador of Brunei in the skies and through each of the scenes, we reflect Bruneian’s warm hospitality in the way we do our work.
“I am especially proud that this video was produced internally by our team of talented people,” said RB’s Chief Executive Officer Captain Haji Khalidkhan Haji Asmakhan.
“Alhamdulillah, this song was chosen as part of the National Day video of the workplace of my son and the talented people in RB. My wife and I are proud to collaborate with Royal Brunei Airlines on this special project and be part of a video with our son Yudy,” said Major (Rtd) Haji Manaf.
Towards the end of the video, the number ‘37’ was formed to commemorate the country’s years of independence. More than 100 staff from various divisions and departments took part in the formation with RB’s environmentally-friendly fleet – the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A320Neo – in the special Brunei Tourism livery.
RB will participate in this year’s National Day parade with representations in two groupings: Private Sectors and Frontliners.
The video can be viewed on www.flyRB.com/37 and all of RB’s social media platforms.
