The Brunei Red Crescent Society (BRC) began the Sadaqah Kotak Makanan Sungkai Di Bulan Ramadhan project at the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop on Thursday. BRC President Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yussof bin Pengiran Haji Bahar and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) representatives, as the contributor, distributed the food packs.
A total of 100 hot meal and breakfast packs were distributed, which is an initiative of the community mobile kitchen of the BRC’s humanitarian aid body in collaboration with its corporate partners – BIBD, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Setia Protective Security Services (SPSS), Ashcore Sdn Bhd and Ababil Resources.
Similar activity also took place at the Kampong Batu Marang Mosque yesterday with BRC President and the BIBD platoon distributing 100 food packs at the mosque. The food packs contain nasi briyani ayam, dates and mineral water prepared by Royal Brunei Culinary (RBC) and will be distributed throughout the month of Ramadhan at selected mosques.
The items are distributed among residents around the area of selected mosques, the less fortunate, foreign workers and mosque congregants. The project will be launched today at Ar-Rahman Mosque in Kampong Tanjung Bunut.
