    Ramadhan blessings with religious activities, charity

    Government ministries held religious activities in Temburong and Belait districts to strengthen bonds with the local communities as well as seek rewards from Allah the Almighty yesterday in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

    In Belait District, Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong. Permanent Secretary (Security, Welfare and Law) at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the MoHA Salminan bin Haji Burut, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Municipal and District) at the MoHA Abdul Walid bin Haji Matassan, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Safety and Welfare) at the MoHA Azmi bin Haji Hafneh, Acting Belait District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed, as well as senior officers and head of departments from MoHA attended a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque.

    Also present were Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin, penghulus, village heads, members of the mukim and village council and district residents.

    The recitation of Tedarus Al-Quran and Tahlil ceremony was led by Mosque Affairs Officer Akup bin Haji Lamat.

    The MoHA delegation also handed over Wakaf to the mosque, as well as donations to 11 orphans.

    In Temburong District, Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, acting permanent secretary at the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) as well as senior leadership, officers and personnel from MinDef and the RBAF attended several religious events.

    At the Kampong Pintu Malim Mosque, the delegation held the mass Asar prayer, a Tedarus Al-Quran ceremony and presented the Mosque Takmir Committee with a RBAF Diamond Jubilee Mushaf Al-Quran.

    At Surau Al-Quwwah of Bangar Camp, the delegation held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil, as well as the breaking of fast and mass Maghrib prayers with penghulus and village heads.

    At Kampong Puni Mosque, the MinDef delegation participated in the Isyak prayers, Sunnat Terawih and Sunnar Witir with the local community and presented donations to the Mosque Takmir Committee, which included a RBAF RBAF Diamond Jubilee Mushaf Al-Quran.

    The MinDef’s Ihya Ramadhan and Outreach Programme organised by the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) is part of a series of religious activities aimed at strengthening the bond with the rural community, and to collectively reap the benefits of the holy month of Ramadhan.
