QAF Eurokars (Porsche Centre Brunei) sent Porsche customers and enthusiasts to Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia on June 20 to experience the Porsche World Roadshow (PWRS) driving experience.
During the event, participants experienced the dynamic driving performance of various Porsche models on the race track and immersed themselves in the Porsche brand at the world-class racetrack.
The PWRS programme was led by professional Porsche certified instructors. Under their guidance, participants not only enjoyed the thrill of driving a Porsche on the Sepang International Circuit, they also enhanced their driving skills. The programme also included braking, slalom, vehicle handling and an off-road experience, all in one day.
This year, the roadshow came with 16 brand new Porsche sports cars ranging from the following models: 718 Boxster, 718 Boxster S, 911 Carrera S Coupé, 911 Carrera S Cabrio, 911 Carrera 4 S Coupé, 911 Carrera 4 S Cabrio, 911 Targa 4S, 911 Turbo Coupé, 911 Turbo S Coupé, Panamera 4S, Panamera Turbo, Macan GTS, Cayenne GTS/Cayenne Turbo/Cayenne Turbo S.
One of the participants, Haji Muhd Amirul Shahreen bin Haji Zainal told the Weekend Bulletin that the programme was ‘a one of a kind experience’ whereby he was lucky to drive most of the available Porsche models during the one-day event.
He added that the experience learnt during the programme was ‘invaluable’ as it showed the full capabilities of Porsche especially when it comes to the safety features.
“Some of the functions and safety features taught during the programme were unknown to me before. The experience and informative instructors explained detail specification of each Porsche model that is also useful during day-to-day driving,” he said.
Meanwhile, sharing the same sentiment was Muhammad Tajus Sulhi bin Haji Muhammad Salleh, who lauded QAF Eurokars for the opportunity to join the programme.
“Through various practice courses, I feel more confident driving in a Porsche. We manage to explore the limits of the cars in a control environment with professional instructors.
“These practice courses also expand my driving skills, which were never taught in ordinary driving schools. An accident can happen at any time but with the correct technic and skills, it can be a matter of life and death,” he added.
A similar programme will be held in September 2017.
