PUJA (B) President Sr Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman led the Brunei delegation, including Vice President Engineering Division Ir Chin Lee Tuck and 10 engineering division members at the 40th Conference of the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO 40) at Sokha Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia from December 4-8.
The conference, titled ‘The Changing Roles of Engineers in Industry 4.0 Era’, saw the attendance of engineering institutions from the 10 member countries.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and Chairman of the Council of the Board of Engineers Cambodia (BEC) Dr Ith Samheng. The Brunei Ambassador to Cambodia together with other foreign dignitaries also attended.
The closing ceremony concluded with a farewell dinner and the presentation of the Engineering Award. Three senior members of PUJA’s engineering division – Ir Adwan bin Haji Tungkat, Ir Dr Tang Shi Siong and Ir Haji Amir Hamzah bin Haji Abdul Karim – were conferred with the Honorary Fellow by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations.
The next CAFEO 2023 will be in Bali, Indonesia.
