The Marine Police from the Operations Department of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) seized 3,568 cans of alcoholic beverage at a house in Kampong Sungai Besar, on January 7.

Acting on a public tip-off, the Marine Police team launched the raid at 9.20pm. On approaching the location, two individuals fled the scene.

The police recovered more than 140 cases of contraband cans, stashed beneath the stilt house.

The Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) was contacted for a further inspection on the premises.

The RBPF has attributed the success of the raid to public cooperation in helping eradicate
criminal activities.

“The Royal Brunei Police Force will continue to carry out monitoring, tracking and detection in the fight against crime, without any compromise,” said the RBPF in a statement.
