SANG Jati Dusun (PSJD) Veteran team represented Brunei in the 20th PSC International Football 7’s Tournament over the weekend in Penang, Malaysia.
Organised by The Soccer Section of Penang Sport Club, the two-day tournament saw 30 teams from Europe, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Maldives, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand competing.
PSJD Veteran competed in the Grandmaster category for 50 years and above.
Team manager Noradenani Singok noted that apart from strengthening ties among participants, the tournament was a good opportunity for the team.
He shared that players representing PSJD Veteran comprised experienced players who are active in tournaments abroad as well as representing the Brunei Veteran Football Association.
“I trust my players, they have no fitness issues as they are the same team who are currently competing in the Football Championship League and FA Cup organised by Al-Idrus Sport Club 2018/2019,” he said.
The team is led by head coach Nordin Tujoh who is a legendary figure in the local football scene.
PSJD Veteran have competed in tournaments abroad, and have emerged champions of the Plate category in the 4th Lagenda Datuk Soh Chin Aun Unity Challenge in Malacca last year.
