Prosecutors given two weeks to finalise housebreaking, theft case

PROSECUTORS were given two weeks to finalise a case of housebreaking by night for the commission of theft involving a local duo which was adjourned to February 13, 2019.

DPP Hajah Siti Mu’izzah binti Haji Sabli informed Chief Magistrate Pengiran Masni binti Pengiran Haji Bahar when bringing the case to court that the police needed more time to complete investigations into the case against Md Sharin bin Md Noradam, 28, and Mohd Abdul Yahya bin Mohd Daud.

The men are alleged to have committed an offence of housebreaking by night for the commission of theft at a residence at Barek Ukur, Jalan Singa Menteri, Kuala Belait between January 25-26.

Both defendants also face a charge of stealing 15 steel drain gratings, a steel water pump cover and a steel water heater cover from a house at Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait in the morning of January 24.

Mohd Abdul Yahya faces two more charges of having allegedly stolen two lawnmowers and a gas cylinder from Amrtur Industrial, Kuala Belait between January 13-14.
