Prosecutors on Monday withdrew a charge against a Pakistani of prompting a woman to use forged documents, not amounting to an acquittal.

With the application, Senior Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid discharged Mujahid Abbas Malik, 58, not amounting to an acquittal, of allegations of instructing a woman to use a forged document, in the form of Transfer of Shares for a company incorporated in Brunei, sometime between late July and early August, 2017.

DPP Dayangku Didi-Nuraza binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff first pressed the charge against Mujahid on July 8, 2021.

Mujahid denied the charge and trial was scheduled to run from yesterday.

Defence counsel for Mujahid, Daud Ismail fought for his client’s full acquittal. However, the court declined making the order.
